  • 1 cup semolina
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 100 g butter
  • 1 cup plain kefir
  • 1 egg
  • a pinch of salt


  • Let`s mix all the dry ingredients together: all-purpose flour, semolina, baking powder, sugar and salt.
  • Now, add kefir to the mix of dry ingredients (as a last resort, you can replace kefir with sour cream and even plain yogurt, but only with the help of kefir manna will be so fluffy and soft).
  • Melt butter in a small saucepan.
  • Add melted butter into the batter. Stir everything intensely.
  • Next step would be to break in an egg.
  • After another good stir you should leave the batter for 25 minutes to rest (at this time, the batter will rise).
  • It is easier for you to take cake form with removable bottom or adjustable cake ring and use parchment paper as a bottom. Before using any form, smear all the sides with butter. Now, place batter in the form.
