Ingredients
2 sheets of flatbread lavash
100gcheese
100gham
2tbspssour cream
1clove garlic
20gparsley, chopped or any fresh herb of your choice
1egg
1tbspvegetable oil for cooking in the skillet
salt and freshly ground black pepper to your taste
Instructions
Divide all the ingredients for the filling in half for two sheets of flatbread.
Combine sour cream with pressed garlic. Flatten out a sheet of flatbread over the working surface. Spread the mixture over a sheet of flatbread, somewhat evenly. Try keeping away from the sides, just concentrating in the middle.
Rinse parsley under running water; pat it with paper towels until dry. Chop it as thinly as you would like to have it in your sandwich. Sprinkle over smeared with sour cream part of flatbread. Or you can mix chopped parsley, pressed garlic, and sour cream and cover with this mixture the surface of lavash.
Next, we are going to layer cheese. Depending on the type of cheese you choose, you are going to cut it into small slices (for soft/semi-soft cheese) and grate it using a coarse grater (hard/semi-hard cheese). Spread it evenly over the chopped parsley.
Place thin slices of ham over grated cheese. You also cut the ham into small cubes to make its taste more distinct in the end dish.
Wrap up flatbread with the filling into the desired shape. I tend to turn the sides first and then turn the flatbread in length.
You can arrange two flatbread wraps simultaneously or one after another.
Let’s prepare the simplest egg batter for frying our sandwiches. Beat an egg into a deep bowl, and season with salt and the desired amount of freshly ground black pepper. Dip flatbread sandwich wrap into the egg mixture, and dredge it well on both sides.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Fry sandwiches separately (or if you have a large skillet you can cook both sandwiches at the same time but make sure that they do not touch each other). Cook the side until golden brown and then turn the wrap with a spatula to get both sides crispy.
Serve your delicious flatbread sandwich wraps with ham and cheese warm.
