Ingredients
4apples of your choice
3tbsps.sugar
½tsp.ground cinnamon
30gwalnuts, chopped
1sheet of thin flatbread (lavash-like)
Butter or sour cream for smearing
Powdered sugar
Instructions
Peel apples, get rid of the inside and cut into thin slices. Place sliced apple in the skillet. Sprinkle sugar over them and stir the mixture.
Stew apples with sugar in the skillet over medium heat until all the juice from apples evaporates. Do not cover the skillet with a lid. When liquid evaporates add cinnamon, take the skillet off the heat, and let it cool down.
Take a sheet of flatbread and spread over the working surface. Smear the whole sheet with butter. Here is a little tip: to make the process much easier take butter out of the fridge in advance.
Take the apple filling and spread it evenly on the top of a flatbread. Skip the edges.
Sprinkle chopped walnuts over the apples.
Bend the sides of the sheet bread; then roll flatbread into a tight roll. Smear the top of the roll with butter or sour cream.
Cover a baking tray with a parchment paper before placing strudel. Bake for 20-25 minutes in a preheated oven at 350ºF/180°C until golden crust.
Cut into desired pieces and sprinkle some powdered sugar over the top before serving! Enjoy with your favorite tea or other hot drink!
