2cupswater
50gunsalted butter
½tsp.salt
Instructions
As with almost every grain recipe, we will start with rinsing wheat groats under running water or washing them by covering the groats with cold water in a deep bowl and then draining it several times. We do this to prevent groats from sticking at the end of boiling.
Pour the necessary amount of water into the pot and put it on high heat. Wait until the water boils and season with salt.
Add rinsed wheat groats to the boiling water.
Stir groats from time to time while you wait for the water to boil. Get rid of all the foam that forms in the process.
When water with groats reboils, lower the heat and cook porridge for 20 minutes. To ensure that your porridge cooks through evenly and does not burn, stir wheat groats every 5 minutes or so.
When all water cooks off, and you know that groats are cooked through, add butter, cover the pot with a lid, and set it aside to rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
