3potatoes
1.5lwater
2carrots
2onions
20gfresh herbschopped
2tbsp.oil
2black peppercorns
1bay leaf
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Dumplings Ingredients
1egg
1tbsp.unsalted butter
5-7tbsp.all-purpose flour
130mlmilk (water)
a pinch of salt
Instructions
Take the necessary amount of butter out of the fridge and let it soften at room temperature. Separate egg yolk and egg white. Combine butter with egg yolk in a mixing bowl.
Pour milk; add all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Mix all the ingredients with a spatula.
Whisk egg whites into a thick foam and then add it to the dough. Make sure that you combine all the ingredients into one smooth consistency.
Take a pot, place the chicken inside, and cover it with water. Let the water boil on high heat (get rid of all the foam in the process). Then add half of the carrot and a quarter of the onion, a bay leaf, and peppercorn to make the broth tastier. Wait until the water boils again with added vegetables and herbs. Lower the heat to a minimum and cook broth for 30 minutes. When time passes, get rid of all the added veggies.
Peel potatoes and cut them into small cubes. Add cubes to simmering broth with wings.
While the potato is cooking, let sauté onion and carrot in the skillet on the stove. Add them to the simmering soup.
The last ingredient to add will be dumplings. Use a teaspoon to drop lumps into the soup. Cook dumplings for 5 minutes or until cooked through.
Add chopped fresh herbs. Season with salt and ground black pepper to your taste. Cover with a lid and take from the heat. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes before serving. Enjoy your meal!
