There are several ways to serve this dish. You can cook chicken broth and then in a separate pot cook dumplings in salted water. Serve them separately in two bowls, add dumplings little but little as you eat the soup.  On the other hand, you can have Chicken Dumplings Soup the way I have in this recipe.

Ingredients for the Chicken Soup:

Chicken Soup Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken wings;
  • 3 potatoes;
  • 1.5 l water;
  • 2 carrots;
  • 2 onions;
  • 20 g fresh herbs, chopped;
  • 2 tbsp. oil;
  • 2 black peppercorns;
  • 1 bay leaf;
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Homemade Flour Dumplings Ingredients:

Ingredients for dumplings for the soup

  • 1 egg;
  • 1 unsalted butter;
  • 5-7 tbsp. all-purpose flour;
  • 130 ml milk (water);
  • a pinch of salt.

How to make dumplings for the soup:

  • Take necessary amount of butter out of the fridge and let it soften at a room temperature. Separate egg yolk and egg white. Combine butter with egg yolk in a mixing bowl.

  • Pour milk; add all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Mix all the ingredients with a spatula.

  • Take a pot, place chicken inside and cover with water. Let the water boil boil on a high heat (get rid of all the foam in the process). Then add half of the carrot and a quarter of the onion, a bay leaf and peppercorn to make the broth tastier. Wait until water boils again with added vegetables and herbs. Lower the heat to minimum and cook broth for 30 minutes. When time passes, get rid of all the added veggies.
