These fried flatbread wraps with cheese are a crispy, cheesy delight that makes for the perfect snack or light meal. Soft, warm flatbread is filled with gooey, melted cheese and then fried to golden perfection, creating a satisfying combination of crispy and cheesy textures.
Combine grated hard cheese with chopped fresh parsley in a large bowl. You always can choose any type of fresh herbs but make sure to clean it thoroughly under running water before cutting it into small pieces. As for the cheese, I prefer to use hard or semi-hard type because I like its texture. You can season the mixture by adding salt and freshly ground black pepper if necessary.
Cut flatbread sheets into long thick strips. I made cuts along the width of the sheet 3 inches (about 6 cm) wide strips.
At the beginning of each strip, place a tablespoon of the cheese/parsley mixture.
Now is the hardest step of the recipe. Let’s form sandwich wraps in the form of a triangle; keep wrapping in the flatbread until the strip ends. The last bit of the edge hide in the middle of the triangle.
Place a frying pan on the heat; add oil of your choice for frying and wait until it heats up. Place flatbread wraps in the skillet and fry for 2 minutes on each side or until the crust turns golden brown. Make sure not to burn sandwich wraps, as it can make them really unappetizing.
Better served warm with your favorite dipping sauce! Enjoy your meal!
