Today, I am going to share with you another delicious recipe that you can make using flatbread lavash. These cheesy flatbread wraps are very quick and easy to make. In about 15 minutes, you have a savory snack to serve for your picnic. Moreover, there are only three ingredients to use, which you can easily buy at your local supermarket.
The recipe is pretty versatile, as I can say. The ingredients are replaceable. From the very start, you can choose your favorite type of cheese and herb to use for the filling. You can add pressed garlic and some other ingredients to add extra flavor and spiciness. On the other hand, you can totally omit using them in the recipe and let the taste of the dip stand out on its own. Guacamole or yogurt-based sauces would be my top choices to have with this kind of snack.
I have already published a flatbread wrap recipe, but that one was more of an option for a quick breakfast/lunch. It is nourishing enough to have as a separate meal. You can check it out below:
Ham and Cheese Flatbread Sandwich Wraps Recipe
Ingredients for Sandwich Wraps with Flatbread:
- 2 sheets of flatbread (lavash);
- 150 g hard (semi-hard) cheese;
- 20 g fresh parsley, chopped;
- 30 ml vegetable oil;
- salt and freshly ground black pepper.
How to make fried wraps with cheese:
- Combine grated hard cheese with chopped fresh parsley in a large bowl. You always can choose any type of fresh herbs but make sure to clean it thoroughly under running water before cutting it into small pieces. As for the cheese, I prefer to use hard or semi-hard type because I like its texture. You can season the mixture by adding salt and freshly ground black pepper if necessary.
- Cut flatbread sheets into long thick strips. I made cuts along the width of the sheet 3 inches (about 6 cm) wide strips.
- At the beginning of each strip, place a tablespoon of the cheese/parsley mixture.
- Now is the hardest step of the recipe. Let’s form sandwich wraps in the form of a triangle; keep wrapping in the flatbread until the strip ends. The last bit of the edge hide in the middle of the triangle.
- Place a frying pan on the heat; add oil of your choice for frying and wait until it heats up. Place flatbread wraps in the skillet and fry for 2 minutes on each side or until the crust turns golden brown. Make sure not to burn sandwich wraps, as it can make them really unappetizing.
- Better served warm with your favorite dipping sauce! Enjoy your meal!

I totally forgot to mention that the best type of flatbread to use for the recipe is the thinnest you can find. Then the crust should become crispy; the cheese will melt inside the wrap, and the herbs will exude the flavor under the heat. And this tandem will create a perfect juicy delicious snack!
