I’m excited to share a delightful recipe featuring flatbread lavash that I’m sure you’ll love! These cheesy flatbread wraps are delicious, incredibly quick, and easy to whip up—taking just about 15 minutes to prepare. They make the perfect savory snack for picnics or gatherings, and the best part is you only need three simple ingredients readily available at your local grocery store.

What I adore about this recipe is its versatility! You can easily customize the filling by selecting your favorite cheese and herbs. Feel free to add pressed garlic or other ingredients to spice things up or keep it simple to let the dip’s flavor shine. I recommend pairing these wraps with creamy guacamole or a yogurt-based sauce for a tasty twist! I’m confident you’ll enjoy making—and sharing—these delicious treats!

I have already published a flatbread wrap recipe, but that one was more of an option for a quick breakfast/lunch. It is nourishing enough to have as a separate meal. You can check it out below:

Ingredients for Sandwich Wraps with Flatbread:

Fried Sandwich Wraps Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of flatbread (lavash);
  • 150 g hard (semi-hard) cheese;
  • 20 g fresh parsley, chopped;
  • 30 ml vegetable oil;
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper.

How to make fried wraps with cheese:

  • Combine grated hard cheese with chopped fresh parsley in a large bowl. You always can choose any type of fresh herbs but make sure to clean it thoroughly under running water before cutting it into small pieces. As for the cheese, I prefer to use hard or semi-hard type because I like its texture. You can season the mixture by adding salt and freshly ground black pepper if necessary.

Combine grated cheese with chopped parsley

  • Cut flatbread sheets into long thick strips. I made cuts along the width of the sheet 3 inches (about 6 cm) wide strips.

Cut flatbread into thick slices

  • At the beginning of each strip, place a tablespoon of the cheese/parsley mixture.

Place the filling at the beginning of the strip

  • Now is the hardest step of the recipe. Let’s form sandwich wraps in the form of a triangle; keep wrapping in the flatbread until the strip ends. The last bit of the edge hide in the middle of the triangle.

Wrap up all the strips

  • Place a frying pan on the heat; add oil of your choice for frying and wait until it heats up. Place flatbread wraps in the skillet and fry for 2 minutes on each side or until the crust turns golden brown. Make sure not to burn sandwich wraps, as it can make them really unappetizing.

  • Better served warm with your favorite dipping sauce! Enjoy your meal!

I forgot to mention that the best type of flatbread to use for the recipe is the thinnest available. This will ensure a crispy crust, allowing the cheese to melt perfectly inside the wrap while the herbs release their flavor under the heat. Together, these elements will create a deliciously juicy snack!
