Today, I am going to share with you another delicious recipe that you can make using flatbread lavash. These cheesy flatbread wraps are very quick and easy to make. The recipe is pretty versatile, as I can say. The ingredients are replaceable. From the very start, you can choose your favorite type of cheese and your favorite herb to use for the filling. You can add pressed garlic and some other ingredients that add extra flavor and spiciness. On the other hand, totally omit using them in the recipe and let the taste of the dip stand out. Guacamole or yogurt-based sauces would be mine top choice to have with this kind of snack.

I have already published a flatbread wrap recipe but that one was more an option for a quick breakfast/lunch. It is nourishing enough to have as a separate meal. You can check it out below:

Ingredients for Sandwich Wraps with Flatbread:

Fried Sandwich Wraps Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of flatbread (lavash);
  • 150 g hard (semi-hard) cheese;
  • 20 g fresh parsley, chopped;
  • 30 ml vegetable oil;
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper.

How to make fried wraps with flatbread and cheese:

  • Combine in a large bowl grated hard cheese with chopped fresh parsley. You always can choose any type of fresh herbs but make sure to clean it under running water thoroughly before cutting into small pieces. As for the cheese, I prefer to use so called hard/semi-hard types because I like their texture. Here you can season the mixture by adding salt (if necessary) and freshly ground black pepper.

Combine grated cheese with chopped parsley

  • Cut flatbread sheets into long thick strips. I made cuts along the width of the sheet 3 inches (about 6 cm) wide strips.

Cut flatbread into thick slices

  • At the beginning of each strip, place a tablespoon of the cheese/parsley mixture.

Place the filling at the beginning of the strip

  • Now, the hardest step of the recipe. Let’s form sandwich wraps in a form of a triangle; keep wrapping in the flatbread until the strip ends. The last bit of the strips edge hide in the middle of the triangle.

Wrap up all the strips

  • Place a frying pan on the heat; add oil of your choice for frying and wait until it heats up. Place flatbread wraps in the skillet and fry for 2 minutes on each side or until the crust turns golden brown. Make sure not to burn sandwich wraps, as it can make them really unappetizing.

  • Better served warm with your favorite dipping sauce! Enjoy your meal!

I totally forgot to mention that the best type of flatbread to use for the recipe is the thinnest you can find. Then the crust will be crispy, cheese will melt inside the wrap and the herbs will exude the flavor under the heat. And this tandem will create a perfect juicy delicious snack!
