Instructions
Pull a green stem off, if there is one. Thoroughly clean tomatoes under running water, and pat them dry with paper towels. Cut into halves and remove the inside part of the stem. Slice each tomato half into the necessary amount of wedges. I had 6 wedges from 1 tomato. Place them in a mixing bowl.
Peel off the papery skin and rinse the onion under running water. Cut it in half and then into thin slices. Then, chop a garlic clove into small pieces. Add sliced onion with chopped garlic to the mixing bowl with tomato wedges.
Peel off parsley and basil leaves from the stem, rinse them, and cut them into small slices. Add to the mixing bowl.
In a separate bowl combine oil, soy sauce, vinegar, honey, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Give the mixture a nice whisk. The purpose is to combine these ingredients into one smooth texture.
Pour over tomatoes with herbs, onion, and garlic marinade. To cover veggies evenly toss them gently in the bowl or use a spoon for the purpose. Set the mixture aside for 2 hours for tomatoes to marinate (first hour at room temperature, second hour in the fridge).
In two hours, you will have a delicious appetizer from tomatoes ready. Serve on a separate plate or as a side dish for steaks or fish. Enjoy your meal!
