Ingredients
320gall-purpose flour
250gcottage cheese/farmer cheese full-fat
1egg
60gsugar
50mlmilk
20gvegetable (sunflower) oil
1tsp.baking powder
½tsp.baking soda
¼tsp.salt
Instructions
Make sure to sieve all-purpose flour before baking (there is a good chance that buns will be much fluffier and softer); add the required amount of baking powder and soda. Combine ingredients by mixing.
In a separate bowl, blend cottage cheese. You can use from a food processor to combine all the ingredients, to a hand blender and even a fork. The better-blended cottage cheese is the smother dough is.
Beat in one egg, add sugar and salt, and pour oil. Mix.
After thoroughly stirring the mixture, pour milk.
Keep stirring the mixture after pouring milk. Try using a whisk for the purpose and get rid of all the lumps.
Now is the time to combine dry ingredients with liquid ingredients. You have better add flour mixture bit by bit and stir it while you are doing that.
When you add all the flour, start kneading the dough with your hands. The dough should workable but still a bit sticky, thick, and soft at the same time.
Divide dough into ten equal parts (they will be around 50 grams each). Form balls with your hands. Line a baking tray with a parchment paper. Place cottage cheese dough balls with some space apart as they increase in size.
Preheat oven at 350ºF/180°C. Bake cottage cheese buns for 20-25 minutes until they turn golden-brown.
Before serving, make sure to let them cool. Sprinkle some powdered sugar over the bus and enjoy them with your favorite type of hot drink!
