In spite of the fact that you can find this recipe almost in every cuisine, the original one comes from the Hungarian cuisine according to the data I found. This was my favorite dessert as I was growing up. My grandma`s pie was so delicious because she also used her own homemade jam. My top favorite were quince and blueberry jams for the pie. But believe me it tastes good with any jam, but the trick is to get slightly thicker ones. Moreover, of course choose the type of jam you like the most. You should definitely consider baking this pie. As the recipe for 5-ingredient dough is pretty basic and easy to knead.

Ingredients for a perfect crumb cake:

Crumb cake ingredients

  • 400-450 g all-purpose flour;
  • 100 g sugar;
  • 100 g butter;
  • 5 g baking powder;
  • 1 egg;
  • 350 g jam of your choice.

How to bake 6-ingredient crumb pie:

  • Combine butter with sugar in a deep mixing bowl. Take butter out of the fridge beforehand as should be slightly soft (30 minutes will be enough).
