In this recipe, you will have minimum ingredients to make simple but at the same time delicious meal – baked chicken legs with 4-ingredient marinade. Baking is the perfect way to cook any type of meat. However, you should always keep in mind that there are some differences between roasting, for example, chicken meat and pork. That is why it is always important to follow the recipe especially, baking time and, of course, the list of ingredients for the marinade.
For the purpose of the experiment, I tried mayo-based marinade for the first time and it turned out as I imagined. Meat after baking was soft with creamy but at the same time savory taste and was easy to separate from the bone. I would really recommend this one to you.
Mayonnaise Chicken Marinade Ingredients:
- 5 chicken legs;
- 20 g mustard;
- 30 g mayonnaise;
- salt and freshly ground black pepper to your taste.
How to bake chicken drumsticks in the oven:
- Thoroughly rinse chicken legs under running water and pet them dry with paper towels until dry. Place them in a deep bowl.
- In a separate bowl, stir together mayo with mustard until you get smooth sauce for the chicken marinade.
- Sprinkle salt and black pepper over chicken legs, pour marinade and toss them with hands until fully covered with sauce. Leave them in the fridge to marinate for 1-2 hours; do not forget to cover with a plastic wrap. Besides, you can even leave it in the fridge overnight.
- Preheat oven at 180°C/350°F
- Transfer chicken legs covered in marinade onto the baking dish rimmed with foil.
- Wrap up foil and place baking pan in the center of the oven.
- First, bake chicken drumsticks for 50 minutes covered. Then take the pan out of the stove and open the foil. Bake chicken legs for 10 minutes on one side and 10 minutes on the other or until skin turns golden and crispy.
- Serve baked chicken drumsticks hot and garnished with fresh herbs.
