Besides, it is the tastiest dip for any snack or appetizer. Thanks to its nice tangy taste, you can have it with almost everything.

There are many ways to make tartar sauce as the number of recipes is pretty numerous. Starting from those where you are making mayo base from the scratch (using oil with eggs) and to the most basic one where you combine store-bought sweet relish with mayonnaise. I will share with you a recipe that has something in the middle. We will use already made mayo (which will save us some time) alongside fresh ingredients. Moreover, from the first time you make this recipe, you will never buy a store one ever again.

  • 200 ml mayonnaise;
  • 70 g pickled cucumbers;
  • 2 garlic cloves;
  • 20 g fresh dill;
  • 1 tbsp. mustard;
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice freshly squeezed.

How to make tartar sauce without relish:

  • Combine mustard with mayonnaise in a deep bowl by stirring them until well mixed.

  • Shred pickles using any size of grater that you prefer. There is a chance that you may get some extra juice, get rid of it. Add cucumber to the mayo mixer.

  • Add lemon juice to the mix.

  • Rinse fresh dill, dry it by patting with paper towels, and finely chop it into fine pieces. Add to the bowl together with a pressed garlic.
