This four-ingredient marinade goes perfectly with any kind of meat but I especially like to use it with poultry (with my top choices being turkey legs and chicken thighs). Moreover, due to the fact that we are not roasting the leg but baking in the oven bag, meat turns out very juicy, delicious and savory.

You first can be turned off by the amount of prepping time, but in reality, you spend at the most 15 minutes in the kitchen. Just combine ingredients for the marinade, smear with it the turkey leg and leave it for approximately 6 hours to marinate. Then you spend 5 minutes, max., to transfer the leg to an oven bag and place it in the oven. Then you simply wait for turkey to bake. As simple as it can get. Ingredients for cooking turkey leg in the oven

  • 1 turkey leg (1 kg);
  • 1 small bunch of fresh rosemary (20g).

Ingredients for Turkey Marinade:

  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce;
  • 1 tbsp. honey;
  • 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard;
  • 2 cloves of garlic;
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to your taste.

How to cook turkey leg in the oven:

  • Let`s prepare marinade for the leg first. In a small deep bowl, combine soy sauce, Dijon mustard and honey. Peel garlic cloves and press them into the bowl (or chop them into the smallest pieces).

  • Season sour-sweet marinade with salt and freshly ground pepper, thoroughly stir the mixture until smooth.

Add pressed garlic and seasoning

  • Take a turkey leg and clean it under cold running water. But be careful not to splash water everywhere on your kitchen counter as you can transfer germs from the fresh meat. After cleaning the leg, pat it until dry with paper towels.

Clean turkey leg

  • Cover the leg with marinade over the entire surface. If there is a way, try to get marinade even under turkey skin on the leg. Leave the leg to marinate for 6 to 8 hours. So, you marinate it in the morning and in the evening you have a delicious baked turkey. You even can leave it overnight.

Smear turkey with sauce and set it aside to marinate

  • After marinating, take the leg and place in the oven bag of the right size. Now goes our second ingredient. Take sprigs of fresh rosemary and lay them on top of the leg to add that peerless aroma for extra flavor. I make several punctures with a wooden skewer so that steam would escape from the bag while turkey was cooking. For reference, I marinated the leg in the morning and left it for 7 hours in the fridge.

Bake for hour and a half in the oven bag

  • Bake turkey leg at 350ºF/180°Cfor an hour and a half (1h30m). If you want your baked leg to have roasted skin than bake it for 1h15m in the oven bag, then carefully remove it or cut it in the middle to open the leg for the heat. Roast turkey leg for additional 15 minutes (you even can even raise heat to 450ºF).
  • You can cut meat from the bone or serve baked turkey leg as it was originally. Enjoy your meal!
