This delicious French toast recipe is my go-to choice when I’m unsure about what to have for breakfast. It’s both crunchy and juicy, making it a perfect option for a quick and nutritious meal that will keep you satisfied for hours. Best of all, it requires only simple pantry ingredients that you likely already have in your kitchen.
I absolutely love using butter instead of vegetable oil for frying French toast! It really makes them so much more tender and flavorful. Sometimes, I like to add sugar to the egg mixture right at the start, but I always make sure it fully dissolves before soaking the bread. This step is key because undissolved sugar can burn, leaving the outside browned while the inside stays uncooked. Trust me, the results are delicious when you get it right!

Here are some more ideas of my favorite dishes to make for breakfast:
Ingredients for the Best French toast:

- 2 eggs;
- 180 g milk;
- 60 g butter;
- 400 g loaf bread;
- 1 tbsp. sugar;
- A pinch of salt.
How to make fluffy French toast at home:
- Cut bread into thick slices not less than half an inch. For the recipe make sure to use bread, that is several days old. In such a way, slices of toast won`t fell apart while cooking in the skillet.
- Before making an egg mixture, take eggs out of the fridge and leave them to get to room temperature. Take a deep bowl; add eggs and a pinch of salt.

- Whisk eggs until well combined.

- Pour in milk and continue whisking until smooth.

- Dip each of the bread slices in the egg-milk mixture in turns. Let them soak for some time in the bowl at least for 30 sec (I have read in some recipes that they let loaves of bread soak for 15 minutes, in my case, bread would have already dissolved into pieces).

- Let the butter melt in the skillet over medium-high heat on the stove.

- Shake off the excess mixture from the bread slices and put them into the skillet.

- Fry French toasts until golden brown on one side and turn to the other side to get golden. If you have more than one bunch of toasts to cook, every time add a new portion of butter.

- Before serving, sprinkle some sugar over French toast while it is still hot. Better enjoyed warm. Enjoy your breakfast!

I enjoy my French toast without any syrups, jams, or creams. The maximum I will add is my favorite type of berries, if I have any. For me, the simple yet delicate flavor of bread soaked in an egg and milk mixture is sufficient. If you prefer not to use powdered sugar, consider adding a teaspoon or two of condensed milk instead.
