Lemon curd is the tastiest traditional dessert sauce based on lemons with the recipe originally from England. It is a very delicate velvety custard with a creamy consistency, sour taste, and citrus aroma. If you want to know how you can make homemade lemon curd, then keep reading.
In the recipe, I will show you how to cook curd using freshly squeezed lemon juice with the addition of eggs, butter, and sugar. The dish in itself is pretty basic with very simple guidelines to follow. Common ingredients make this dessert a perfect option if you crave something special but do not have anything else in the fridge, except lemons and eggs.
If you try homemade lemon curd once, you will never reach out to the store option. I found that making my desserts helps me to control the amount of consumed sugars and artificial additives. This dessert sauce can be used both as a topping for biscuits, muffins, ice cream, crepes, toasts, etc. Or it can be an ingredient to add to other desserts: an additional layer in cheesecakes, filling in scones, cream horns, or eclairs.
Here is the main thing that you should remember. The key to getting that right consistency is to add an equal amount of lemons and eggs. You will learn all by yourself how simple this recipe is and it will make a constant appearance on your table.
