Today I am sharing my Thanksgiving Menu for 2022, along with a few tips to make the holiday a stress-free pleasant experience not only for the guests but for the hosts, too.
I liked putting this Thanksgiving guide together (my first-ever cooking guide for the blog). My main goal was to give you a hand in planning your holiday dinner that is perfect for your Thanksgiving tables and any special holiday or meal. Besides basic must-have recipes, you will have some unusual dish options to choose from.
Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday, a perfect reason to gather friends, and family, and treat yourself to a lot of really delicious food on the table. The key tip to make Thanksgiving meal prep easier than ever is creating your menu:
- Figure out how many people are coming in advance.
- Which recipes you will cook in the oven and which ones on the stove.
- Which ones will be best to prep in advance and which dishes are to be cooked only on the day of the gathering.
- The best way to prepare for the holiday is to make more dishes in advance that need only reheating before serving and to choose recipes that can be served raw.
- Finally, learn the dietary restrictions of your guests. Of course, you cannot accommodate everyone’s specific wants but do make sure there is something on the table for everyone. You can achieve this by serving a wide range of side dishes.
I am sure you will find something for everyone in the recipes below! Some more recipes will be coming to the blog in the next months. I will be adding links as each one goes online. If you can not find the recipe in this post, simply enter the title of the dish from the picture into a search bar!
Thanksgiving Main Course
Turkey Leg Recipe with Soy Sauce Marinade
If you are cooking for a small gathering of friends or family, roasting a whole turkey will be excessive. Give this recipe a chance. Remember that one turkey leg is for 2-3 servings and if you’ve got a lot of sides, guests will probably eat less turkey. Moreover, I am still looking for a perfect whole turkey recipe.
Thanksgiving Side Dishes
Easy Scalloped Potatoes
With this cheesy scalloped potatoes recipe, you will have a classic staple dish at your holiday dinner. Moreover, the recipe is pretty easy to follow. A cheesy delicious side dish that goes perfectly with almost every other dish. They are sure to be a hit at your Thanksgiving feast.
Mashed Potatoes
There will be no Thanksgiving dinner without mashed potatoes. There is nothing better than a creamy velvety mash to have with turkey and rich gravy. This dish is definitely party-worthy, despite being the easiest to prepare.
Roasted Vegetables Recipe
Talking about another easy-to-make dish! Roasting vegetables is the best way to get veggies included in your festive table besides they turn out extra delicious! It is so simple but makes all the difference in making vegetables go from plain to extra – do a bigger batch, just in case!
Beetroot Salad with Pickles and Peas
This traditional fall salad recipe has loads of flavor: cooked beets, carrots, and potatoes with tangy dill pickles and green peas. A perfect make-ahead option for the Thanksgiving dinner menu!
Fresh Cranberry Sauce
Never opt for canned cranberry sauce when you need only 30 minutes to make fresh tart cranberry sauce at home. The process of cooking is super easy and the ingredients are pretty essential. Throw them together and let them cook on the stove. Yes, the recipe is that simple!
Russian Potato Salad
This unexpected recipe can provide a fresher twist to your selection of festive dishes. With budget-friendly ingredients, you can have a delicious side dish or a savory appetizer to have with crackers. Another recipe that you can prep ahead of time. Never underappreciate it during the busy holiday season.
Thanksgiving Appetizers, Snacks, and Sauces
Twice Baked Potatoes
One of the dishes that you can make ahead of time! The most delicious combination – crispy potato skin, creamy mashed potatoes, and, of course, mouth-watering bacon. Can be served as a perfect nutritious appetizer or side dish (you can easily have it instead of mashed potatoes).
Cheesy Stuffed Mushrooms
Stuffed Mushrooms are a wonderful appetizer for Thanksgiving. The recipe is simple enough to make but the dish still looks fancy to be served for a holiday party. Tender mushroom caps with cheesy filling come out incredibly delicious and savory.
Deviled Eggs with Mushrooms
The tastiest snack that will disappear instantly when I serve them! The recipe that I am sharing is my spin on the classic recipe. There is something special about the taste of fried mushrooms and onions that makes this dish irresistible. The combination of these two simple ingredients and mayo brings more flavor to this simple dish.
Thanksgiving Desserts
The Easiest Apple Strudel Recipe
With its homemade apple filling and lavash instead of puff pastry, this easy apple strudel is the best to make on holiday when you have your hands already full! Fragrant cinnamon, crunchy nuts, and juicy apple filling will not make you doubt!
Blueberry Sour Cream Pie
This dessert is one of my top choices to make all year round. As the season of fresh berries is over, you can bake this sour cream pie with any type of frozen berries and it will be no less delicious. Perfect for the holiday season or any other party!
Lemon Cheesecake with Cottage Cheese
When the creamy texture of cottage cheese collides with rich lemony flavor you get a perfect refreshing dessert that is sure to satisfy any picky eater. A perfect Thanksgiving dessert for those who want something extra!
